Methodists at Claremount Road are an active part of Wallasey Village Churches Together.
Our building stands on a hill at the junction of Claremount Road and Sandy Lane, with a wonderful view across the Wirral and the coast.
Many of our members play an active role in the local community.

Claremount is a church strong on fellowship in the Methodist Tradition. We don't have a Sunday School running alongside the morning service but we welcome young families and have a play area with quiet toys at the back of the church. We also have a very well supported monthly Messy Church to which parents are invited alongside their children. About half of the congregation are involved in this mission; welcoming, teaching crafts (often weird and wonderful), cooking and serving the community meal, or maybe coming at the end to help with the big clean up after the event. It's a fabulous event which we all love.
Our morning service sees a variety of preachers: maybe our Deacon Jenny Knight, but often enough a visiting local preacher from one of the local churches or even, occasionally, a do-it-yourself service run by one or more of our worship leaders. The hymns and other visuals are projected these days - even churches have to move with the times!
In the week there are two very well attended toddler groups where parents and carers can sit and chat while their babies learn to relate to other children. There are all the usual uniformed organisations from beavers and rainbows through cubs, brownies, guides etc.
Ours is a very well used building with members attending art classes, exercise classes, bowls and singing groups.
At the end of the day of course, we are a church. Worship and contemplation of our great but unseen God takes place on Sunday mornings (10.30 am), Sunday evening (6.30 pm) and Wednesday morning (11.00 am (but do come at 10.30 am for coffee before the service if you're coming)). There are two Bible study groups during the week and a monthly Prayer Breakfast. Everyone is welcome to any service or Bible Study group. Post on our facebook page if you need more details or feel unsure about coming on your own (somebody will be available to meet you.
